Hi I have used 2001 Jetta 2.0 GLS.
I bought it about an year and half a go and have about 85000km on it.
I still have 10000km and 6 months left on my used car 2yr/40000km bumper to bumper warranty. The major problem that I am having with this car is that it burns off WAY too much engine oil. I mean, I have to add oil literally every week. I got the oil consumption test and they said it was normal. How can this be normal!???

I really wanna get rid of this car right now. But I still have 3 and half years more on my payments... (yes I really liked the car and didn't have enough money at the time since i am student).

I some how think that overall, with a little loss at this point, it would be better off selling the car now... any recommendation???

Thanks...
and all I can say is Jetta blows....

I had the same problem with my 2000 Jetta.

You don't have to dance with them. Get the facts and get tough.

Hey Bull,

Is there a place where us lowly consumers can see the service bulletins that VW releases. I'd love to have a piece of paper in my hand so that when a dealer claims ignorance, I can hand him the proof.

Try an Xw40 or Xw50 oil that suits your climate and engine requirements.

Some good choices are Shell's Rotella 5w40 synthetic, or conventional 15w40. Mobil 1 15w50. Mobil Delvac 15w40, to name a few.
